Corfu Town, the island's charming capital, is a labyrinth of cobblestone streets and exquisite Venetian-era buildings while many of them today are housing delicious seafood tavernas and souvenir stores on the ground floor. The UNESCO-listed old town, which is centered on the Espianade, is defended by two spectacular 16th-century castles and also has a number of churches, including the Church of St. Spyridon, which is immediately identifiable by its red-domed bell tower.
The waterfront area has a port with frequent ferries to the Greek mainland's Igoumenitsa and daily excursion boats to neighboring Albania.
Make sure to take a walk around the UNESCO-protected old town and see if you can find any of the remaining classic Venetian residences. Additionally, keep a look out for the Georgios Theotokis Statue, the Liston, the Old Fortress, Spilias’ Square, and the Saint Spyridon Church (the patron saint of the town). After all that exploration, stop by The Venetian Well for delectable meals in an exquisite location (the lamb is delicious). It's very old and is certainly one of the greatest things to do in Corfu if you're looking for a more urban experience.
